I’ve been baking since I was old enough to hold a wooden spoon, and vegetarian since I was a teenager, but turning vegan brought about many baking challenges.
Like most vegans I didn’t want to feel like I was missing out on anything, which is why I thought a vegan baking blog would be a good idea, so my experience could help others too. Yes, as vegans we like to eat healthy, but that doesn’t mean we don’t like a treat or three either!
There are those recipes that don’t need a lot of messing around with and that really don’t miss butter and eggs, but then there are others, like sponge cake and brioche where you have to deal with things a little more creatively. I hope that this blog proves that you don’t need any weird and wonderful ingredients, or loads of time, in order to produce vegan baking that can stand-up to any non-vegan version.
Vegan baking has really renewed my passion for baking and I hope that this site does the same for you too! 🙂
